On September 3, 2019 the world changed forever. As the sun set on the gorgeous golden desert of Joshua Tree, two hearts and souls were joined forever in the presence of the loveliest friends and family. So many beautiful words exchanged in vows that didn’t leave a dry eye in sight. Alyssa and Michael fulfilled a destiny. They said I do.
Alyssa and Michael have two of the most beautiful souls I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and I was so honored that they chose me to photograph their beautiful wedding day. From the very first moment we met, I could see how much they loved each other. There was so much care in every touch, every look and every laugh between them. In their more than three years together, the spark has grown into a roaring flame.
So much of this love and tenderness was put into the wedding with beautiful personal touches and DIY projects. The food truck filled with delicious offerings, the fans for a hot desert day and a flower crown station were all the little details to make their friends and family comfortable and happy. From the personalized ring boxes to the vow books filled with poems, this day was truly theirs and had their touches all over it. An amazing celebration for an amazing couple.
But you didn’t come here to hear me ramble, so I think it’s time to get to the photos!
…
The day started with some getting ready festivities, including the most adorable pup ever, Senpai. Alyssa got ready at the most gorgeous Air BnB while Michael got ready at the Pioneertown Motel. Both spaces made great backdrops for this gorgeous pair. Alyssa looked STUNNING in her first look dress from ASOS and Michael looked completely dashing in his maroon suit, also from ASOS. I personally loved the star details on both of their outfits. So dreamy.
Their first look at the Pioneertown Motel was just so lovely. I know Michael had tears in his eyes when he saw his beautiful bride, and I did, too, behind the camera! These two were so effortlessly in love that I had no trouble getting these gorgeous photos of them.
The ceremony also saw many tears, as these two really know how to write amazing vows! Alyssa’s poems had everyone sobbing. When it was finally time to exchange the rings and have their first kiss, I’ve never seen bigger smiles.
For portraits we went for a Vogue/Vanity Fair vibe and this group really pulled it off! With the help of some very accommodating groomsmen, we pulled a couch into the desert and created magic.
We took more photos on this movie set of a town, which was so fun.
By sunset, it was finally time to party and the whole group had so much fun dancing and celebrating. It was truly a day to remember.
Congratulations, Alyssa and Michael! You two are destiny! And As Alyssa said, Til death do you part… plus a little longer. <3
