On a beautiful fall day, something very special happened. Jess and Tom took a vow to love each other forever. They made promises to be there for each other through thick and thin. They looked into each other’s eyes and said “I do.” Alec and I were lucky enough to capture that gorgeous day.
Jess and Tom said their vows beneath a beautiful handcrafted archway built by their family in the center of Lafayette Park In Lafayette Square. While they forecasted rain, we saw nothing but cool breezes and sun, making the day float by like a breeze.
Jess, her bridesmaids and family began their day in The Park House, the oldest building in Lafayette Park and one of the most beautiful. The house was perfect for getting ready and relaxing before the big day ahead.
The energy in the room was fun and vibrant, as they talked, listened to music and just enjoyed each other’s company. As Jess put on her dress, the room lit up. She looked absolutely breathtaking in her polka dot dress and stunning beaded belt. It wasn’t long after that Tom snuck in a special note and some Snickers bars (apparently Jess gets HANGRY) that had the whole room in tears.
Jess and Tom opted for a first look and we’re so glad they did. We found this private alcove near the lake where Tom and Jess saw each other for the first time on their wedding day. I think it’s easy to see that Tom was thrilled.
As the day went on we had a great time photographing the wedding party, a great group of friends and family assembled by the bride and group. They definitely knew how to have a good time.
As it was time for the ceremony, a crowd gathered and waited patiently for these two to become one. The ceremony went beautifully and the attendees celebrated by throwing flower petals in the air, as the newly married couple walked back down the aisle.
We took some time afterward to take some portraits on the historic iron bridge and around the lake. It was peaceful, calm and beautiful.
Then it was finally time to party! We walked from Lafayette Park to Sqwires and started the celebration. There were amazing details laid out like a piece of wood for guest signatures, an extensive dessert bar and coffee bar, an adorable sweetheart table and so many other beautiful details. The personal touches were everywhere.
Congratulations Jess and Tom! Enjoy each and every moment together.
