With Alexandra and Jason, their friends knew something was different. The way they talked about each other. The way they looked at each other. There was the normal flutters of a brand new relationship, but still something wasn’t the same as it had been. They were in love. And everyone knew it.
When the time was finally here, for them to be married, they were ready.
Alexandra and Jason (affectionately called Meathead) could not have picked a more beautiful day to get married at the Scott Outdoor Adventure Retreat aka Camp SOAR in Litchfield, Illinois. While often used for the follies of Girl Scouts, the grounds were decorated gorgeously with flowers, pennants and all the trimmings of a gorgeous woodland wedding.
The tears and goosebumps started early, as Alexandra received a beautiful pair of earrings and an even more beautiful note from her husband to be.
Both Alexandra and Jason had a group of wonderful friends and family surround them from morning through the end of the night. From lacing up dresses to providing comic relief, this group was there to make the day something special.
As the glistening white doors opened and let Alexandra through, Jason’s eyes lit up brighter than anything around. Have you ever seen smiles so big?
After a long morning of waiting, Alexandra and Jason finally were married! We spent some time wandering the property, exploring a gorgeous wooded avenue and a hill bathed in light. And the Collins finally had a few moments to themselves as husband and wife.
After an amazing portrait session (is Alexandra not the most gorgeous bride??), it was finally time to head to the reception. The Juliette Lodge was decked in gorgeous centerpieces of wildflowers in blue wooden boxes and adorable personalized koozies. There were cakes galore of many flavors and one even decorated to resemble Superman in disguise!
After toasts, it was time to party. And party this group did! Enjoying popcorn from the popcorn bar, time in the photobooth and dancing to amazing tunes from the dueling pianos, the night came to a wonderful end. Full of smiles. Full of fun. Full of love.
Congratulations Alexandra and Jason! You have many happy years ahead of you.
