Some people you meet just have fire within them. A creative spark that emanates to everyone who knows them. When I met Tina my freshman year of college in the Mark Twain Residence Hall at Mizzou, I knew she had so many great adventures ahead of her, so many great things she would accomplish with her drive and talent and creativity.
And I was not wrong. Tina has since accomplished so many things. One of which is that she has started her own magazine, The New Territory!
The New Territory magazine “is a platform for narrative journalism, provocative commentary, fresh literature and meaningful art by emerging and established voices of the South-CentralU.S. We care about the land, its people, its problems and its possibilities.”
Along with two other amazing women, Kate and Sara, these three strong women have created something truly unique and inspiring. I was lucky enough to meet with the three of them last weekend and take some portraits of Tina, Katie and Sara. Check them out below.
We had a beautiful, albeit cold, day at Capen Park but they were #girlbosses. I cannot wait for everyone to see the hard work they have put into this magazine. They are a truly inspiring group of women and I’m so happy to know them and to have been able to work with them.
If you’re interested in a subscription to The New Territory or buying the first issue (and you should be) then click here to get started.
Thanks for reading and check back soon, as I’ve got some really fun projects coming up!
